Game Name Game Description
Books vs. Movies Panel Discussion Here’s how it works: There will be a TV, a VCR, and a DVD player in the Summit Room on Saturday at 4:00 PM. There will also be a stack of movies and a corresponding stack of books, like STARSHIP TROOPERS and DUNE and THE LORD OF THE RINGS and such. Passages will be read, and matching scenes will be found…and then the fur’s gonna fly! We’ll discuss changes and deletions and additions and then we’ll discuss the best method for disposing of a director or movie studio executive after they’ve been punished properly. Participants are encouraged to bring their own materials.

Literary Death Match 2003 H.P. Lovecraft versus Edgar Allen Poe; Isaac Asimov versus Arthur C. Clarke; H.G. Wells versus Jules Verne: Come defend your favorites and attack the feeble, shallow, and poorly-thought-out opinions of others! At Literary Death Match 2003 we’ll decide these and many other head-to-head battles between the great and the not-so-great! A shredder awaits the losers, and everlasting fame has probably already been heaped on the winners! Please visit http://www.geocities.com/srbhess/literary.html for a full list of the battles to be fought.

Lollagazebo Auction Come see why web-based auctions will never replace the real, live thing! Get up close and examine the games and gaming-related items that our sellers have brought: Previews start at 6 PM and the auction itself starts at 6:30. Don’t be fooled by vague descriptions and blurry photos! All anyone needs to bid is their Lollagazebo badge. We will accept items for auction until the start of the preview; just go to the Registration table for your lot slips. Each lot slip costs fifty cents and WGP deducts 10% of the final winning bid price: That’s way less than most live auctions! If you need the cash, we’ll bring your stuff out to the buyers…and if you need more stuff, prepare to meet the other bidders head-on! There will be many unique and signed items offered in our charity auction for the benefit of the American Cancer Society.

PEWTER CHEF Painting Contest

Welcome to Painting Stadium! Our participants today will vie for the title of Pewter Chef! All will have the same supplies, all will have the same three miniatures to paint…but NONE will know the colors or the types of figures until the one-hour timer is started and the materials are unveiled! Even the sponsorship of this event must remain a secret so as to maximize the challenge. Your judges may be expert painters themselves; they may also be actresses, former lower house members, Rosanjin scholars, or convention staffers who happen to wander by. All participants get to keep their miniatures and paints; the runner-up gets a prize token, and the Pewter Chef will receive 2 prize tokens!.

Punning Scared: The Lollagazebo Pun Contest TWO MEN ENTER…ONE MAN LEAVES! No, wait, that’s not right…okay, how’s this: THE FIRST RULE OF PUNNING SCARED IS YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT PUNNING SCARED…No, that’s not right either…wait, wait, I think I have it: It’s Punning Scared, the Lollagazebo 2003 Pun Contest, hosted by Jason Schneiderman! If the subject is cookware, take a pot shot! Will you laugh until you burst? Depends! The winner will earn 2 Prize Tokens, the runner-up gets 1, and everyone else wallows in shame and humiliation until the next show. And remember, anyone whose puns are too far off the topic will be thrown out of the context!

Rocky Horror Picture Show It’s just a jump to the left…okay, so it’s a trip to the second floor, left out of the elevators, and straight ahead to the Summit Room…and THEN it’s just a jump to the left! Join us for a rousing good time (Should there be a space between the “a” and the “rousing”?) at one of America’s greatest cinematic traditions. We got lots of cinematic traditions, people, but you don’t see folks dressin’ up and throwin’ stuff at the screen when the whole family gets together to watch IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE every December 24th, now DO YA? (Okay, so if that’s a tradition at YOUR house, I apologize.) The great Jason Schneiderman hosts this gala event in his own inimitable style, so let’s do the Time Warp again… and again… and again… and again…

Players: 30         Difficulty: Beginner          Age Range: Adults Only

RUN OUT THE GUNS Special Rumors say that she tried to sink the island of Martinique, so complete is her hatred of all things French. She's not fast, she's not pretty, but her guns are big enough to knock a galleon clean out of the water and her crew is mad enough to spit red-hot nails! She's the HADES, legendary privateer flute out of Port Royal, and she's prowling the waters of the Caribbean out for revenge. Will you join her in her quest, or join her foes at the bottom? The choice is yours! This is a special-request RPG that will occupy the entire Summit Room for the remainder of the con.
